Youth Division: (Youth age 6-16)
1st Place winner wins cash and award. Participants placing 2nd and 3rd place will receive a special engraved medal.
Competition Entry fee: $50
Adult Division (Age 17-100)
1st place wins cash and award. Participants placing 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded a special engraved medal.

Once form is completed, CLICK on PURCHASE on the Eventbrite form. You will then be transferred to a secure page to fill in your payment information and submit entry fee. Once completed, you will receive an email confirming your payment and entry into Monologue City.
Within 24 hours, you will receive an email regarding more information. Please note: this semi-final round will be conducted the 3rd week of October. After the semi-final(s), all participants will go through to the finale show. The Final performance will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. All contestants must be available for the semi-final, rehearsals, and performance.
The monologue can be from any Comedy, Drama, Film, Television or Theatre . If a monologue has profanity, the profanity must be limited and used only for demonstrating the meaning of the monologue but not for carelessness. It will be up to the judge’s discretion, of the monologues with profanity, regarding their advancement to the semi-final round. Please, if using profanity, be prepared to recite another monologue as a back up. All contestants will be judged on content, emotional connection, character development, presentation, articulation of the monologue, and the vocal & physical characterization.
Children Monologue: 1-2 minutes
Adult Monologue: 1-2 minutes
Costumes and Props:
Costumes must be limited and props are discouraged
The judges are top casting directors, industry professionals in the entertainment world, and individuals from various agencies with expertise in the development of actors. The semi-final judges will consist of local theatre professionals.
Four Reasons For Disqualification:
1. If the monologue is under the required minute by 30 seconds or more
2. If the monologue is over the required minutes by 30seconds or more
3. If the monologue is not memorized
4. If the monologue is a poem
5. If Monologue is an original piece
Please note that the entry fee is non-refundable as we are reserving your place in the competition. So, make certain that you are available for all dates of this competition; however, extreme circumstances will be considered on an individual basis.
